Curriculum Information
Please see below for what your child will be learning this half term.
English: We are reading the books Eyes, Nose, Ears and Toes by Judy Hindley; Noisy Farm by Rod Campbell, and Where’s My Teddy? By Jez Alborough. We will be thinking about ourselves, labelling our body parts, naming farm animals, making story maps and retelling stories, and encouraging children to make their own marks and give some meaning to their marks.
Maths: We are naming and matching colours and matching and sorting different objects.
Understanding the World: We are looking at ‘Me and my Small World,’ and ‘Let’s go Outside.’ Again, we will be thinking about our bodies and our environment, including farms. We will also be exploring the outdoor environment and focusing on the season of Autumn.
During ‘Peek into the Past’ we will be thinking about how we have changed from baby to now.
RE: We will be thinking about why the world God made is important to Christians. We will find out about how Christians believe that God created the world, how God is special and the Harvest Festival.
Music: We will be exploring vocal sounds, body percussion, instruments and sounds in the environment and nature.
PSHE: Being Me in My World - We will be thinking about ourselves, our feelings, talking about being at Nursery, using gentle hands, being kind and following the classroom rules.
Home school communication, both to celebrate the good things and tackle any problems or concerns, is essential in ensuring the very best education for your child. Parents, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher via admin@htceschools.co.uk
As part of our whole school commitment to wellbeing, there is no expectation on our staff to read or answer emails sent between 6pm and 8am in the week, or any at weekends or holidays. Should your email not receive a reply, this is not a case of being impolite but one of choosing wellbeing ahead of workload.
