Hornblower Class Blog

Enjoying a sunny week in the Infants!

You've got a great blog post there! It's clear what the children have been learning. Here's a version with a few grammar tweaks:

Hornblower class have worked really hard this week. In English, they have come up with some brilliant suggestions about how a banana may have become disgusting if it journeyed through the varied parts of Bland Close Farm that we visited! This allowed us to recap what a setting is and to practise using super descriptive language. The children really drew on their experience of the farm to add details, such as the very rough tongues that the bullocks had! (The picture above is a flashback to our questions lesson earlier in the topic.)

In Maths, they have encountered 1/3 for the first time. They have been learning the meaning of the numerator and the denominator and finding 1/3 of a shape and a quantity. This has all helped us to recap our previous learning about division. Honor noticed when a whole was not split equally, "It's not fair if it's not equal," she explained.

In Learning Means The World, we have been learning the key differences between mammals, amphibians, reptiles, fish, and birds. Through these, we have classified different animals into different groups. We also learnt the difference between carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores. Gosh, what a lot of learning!

We hope you have a wonderful weekend.
