In Maths we continue to learn about length and perimeter. Did you know that equivalent means equals to/the same?

10mm = 1cm

100cm = 1m

We have used these units of measure to work out the following:

60mm = 6cm

80mm = 8cm

2m = 200cm

In Learning Means the World we started our new unit, Rocky the Findosaur. We have learnt about the three main types of rocks - metamorphic, sedimentary and igneous.  We also learnt about fossils and created a flowchart to show the fossilisation process. We have enjoyed bringing rocks and fossils into class to look at carefully.

In spelling we have learnt about the prefixes tele- and sub-. The prefix sub- means below and tele- means at a long distance. We have practised adding the prefixes to a range of root words.

sub + marine = submarine

sub + way = subway

tele + phone = telephone

tele + vision = television
