Esk News!

Are you looking forward to our news? We hope you are!

In Maths this week we have been calculating the perimeter of shapes. We learnt that if a shape is not closed it does not have a perimeter.  We also noticed that if the shape is a square, all 4 sides will be the same length.

In English, we have been creating our own information pages about sedimentary rocks and fossils. We included the key features that you would find in a non-fiction text, such as a title, subheadings, captions and pictures.

In Learning Means the World we learnt about Mary Anning who was a famous palaeontologist. She spent her childhood searching the beach for 'curiosities'. These were actually fossils, and you can still see her finds today in museums.

We have really enjoyed our gymnastic lessons! We have been using the apparatus to create a sequence. We incorporated rolls, jumps and gymnastic poses to start and end our movements.

We were very excited to meet Bishop Anna, who led Collective Worship on Wednesday. She brought her mitre, which we enjoyed looking at.

We hope you all have a lovely holiday and look forward to seeing you in Spring 2!
