Esk News!

Hello everybody!

In English, we have been focusing on our use of grammar. We have been consolidating our understanding of capital letters, full stops, exclamation marks and question marks. Here are some examples below:

Jennifer - It is my birthday today!

Archie - I went to the shop.

Scarlett - Do you have a dog?

In Maths we have been learning about 2D shapes. We have discussed their properties and tried to draw them! It was tricky, but we used our rulers to help.

In Guided Reading we are continuing with our text, 'What a Waste'. We used our dictionaries to define a range of scientific vocabulary such as drought, smog, Ozone layer, toxic and many more.

In spelling, we have practised spelling words that contain the 'i' sound but are spelt differently. Below are the words we learnt about:

cygnet

sphinx

gym

frilly

women

build

Egypt

pyramid

mystery

We are really enjoying our athletics PE lessons. This week we played a range of games such as traffic lights, run-walk-run and even pretended to be car drivers! Our passengers had to stay close whilst we weaved around lots of cones!
