Esk Class News

Welcome to the Esk class blog
This week we had our World Book Day celebrations. We got to dress up as our favourite characters from the books we love to read. Mason enjoyed wearing anything he wanted to! The children got to choose to visit any teacher they wanted and listen to them read a storybook. Elsie loved listening to Mrs. Penny reading “The Enchanted Wood." Abdullah and Finn went to hear Mrs. Wright read “Tiddler”. Abdullah really liked the fact that Tiddler was telling the truth all along. Emily enjoyed making her bookmark with a little cat on it.
This week we have started to learn more about fractions. So far, we have looked at the denominators of unit fractions and looked at how to compare and order fractions. Elsie enjoyed learning about fractions like halves, thirds and quarters.
From Esk class we had Mason, Ophelia, Charlie and Ellie representing Holy Trinity in a cross-country running event held at Outwood School. We are proud of them. Although they didn’t win, they competed with great spirit and determination.
We have started the assessment phase of the spring term, and the children have been working really hard on their Reading paper and their Spelling and Grammar paper. We will move on to the Maths papers next week.
