Welcome back to our final half term in Year 3!

We have wasted no time focusing on our  learning as we after the  half term break.

Eloise tells us, "We have started our new English book, 'Arthur and the Golden Rope'. It's really good because it's an adventure story." Alice agreed, saying "I liked it when Arthur went into the cave. I was thinking 'What's going to happen?'". We have been thinking about the elements of a quest or adventure story and we made our own lists of what objects we might take with us on a quest.  Morris said "I liked it when we wrote about the magical objects because it really let your imagination go far."

In Maths we are continuing our learning around 'Time', looking at digital times, and beginning to find out about AM and PM. Scarlett C says "I enjoyed it because it was challenging, especially putting the AM and PM times in the hirt order." The idea of digital time was new to some of our children, ScarlettS said "I didn't know what it was until we leaned about it in class!"

Our new Learning Means the World unit is called 'Come Fly with Me - Africa'. We have been using atlases to locate different countries , and significant cities, within the continent of Africa and label them with a key. We have also begun to explore some aspects of African culture. Sebastian really enjoyed this lesson, saying "I liked the culture lesson because I had a lot to explain about my country."

Finally, we would like to say a warm Nidd "Welcome!" to Kindness, who joined our class this week!
