This week in Nidd

What a fun week we've had!

We have finished our English unit, 'Ask Dr Fisher' with our final write. We imagined ourselves as a wild animal with a problem and wrote some very amusing letters to our fictional agony uncle. We then wrote his reply.

In our shape unit in Maths this week we completed a set of practical challenges involving 3D shape. As you can see from the photograph, we really threw ourselves into the challenge and used a variety of resources to create some super 3D shapes, exploring the edges, faces and vertices.

Our new (and final) Maths unit is statistics. We have been busy interpreting data presented in different forms and creating our own pictograms and bar charts based on a set of data.

In Learning Means the World, we have been learning about some different types of traditional African drums, their qualities and history.

On Thursday afternoon, we were transported to Oz as we watched the Year 6 dress rehearsal of their end of year production. What a fantastic treat!
