A busy end to a busy term!
As we reach the end of our first half term in Year 3, we want to say a huge 'Well done!' to all the children in Nidd for the fantastic way they have settled into key stage 2. Despite the various bugs and viruses that we have had to contend with this week, the children have not let their enthusiasm for learning waver for a minute.
In PHSCE, we reflected on our personal strengths. We began by working in pairs to tell our partner what positive qualities we recognise in them. This was an eye opener for some, as their friend saw things in them that they had not previously seen in themselves and it was wonderful to watch the children begin to uncover more and more special qualities and talents within themselves that they had not thought of.
Maths saw us begin to tackle the column method and we will continue with this after half term.
In English, we have been picking apart a range of myths from different cultures and using them to decide upon a generic structure that most myths follw. We will eventually use this structure to write our own myths.
It has been wonderful to speak to so many parents and carers during our parents' consultations, and to share the children's work. We hope everyone has a much needed and well-deserved rest over half term and look forward to welcoming you all back for a very exciting few weeks in the run up to Christmas!
