A week of discovery and 'Big Dreams'!
We have been very busy with assessments this week and the children have done us proud with their effort, focus and concentration!
In Maths we have started to learn more about fractions. We learned what the numerator and denominator are and how we can use them (along with our multiplication and division skills!) to find a fraction of a number.
Science found us exploring the human skeleton. We discovered its importance in supporting our bodies and in protecting the organs that help to keep us alive, such as our brain, spinal column, heart and lungs. “I didn’t really know that your spine is made of all those little bones, I thought it was just one bone.” Lucas W told us. We also found out about the functions of some of our organs. Anna shared that our skin is our biggest orgen. “That was really interesting,” said Chloe, “I didn’t know that!”
On Thursday we were joined by a whole host of wonderful literary characters, from Harry Potter to Dennis the Menace (along with Gnasher!). Keaton said, “I love the fact that everyone dressed up in lovely costumes.” We spent World Book Day listening to and sharing stories, taking part in quizzes and parading our costumes. Our class focus was on the book series, ‘Little People, Big Dreams’ and we created our own front covers showcasing the ‘Big Dreams’ of our own ‘Little People’.
