Aire Class Blog

We can't believe we have completed 8 weeks of school!

This week we have finished our writing unit on The Lost Happy Endings, by writing our own story with a focus on setting description. The vocabulary and careful grammatical choices that were used were incredible.

Fraser M opened his story with:

"In the dark forest, the sweet fragrance of the flowers filled the air. The bright, white sun couldn’t get through the barrier of the thick, green leaves of the trees. The silence of the misty, bright forest made it feel ominous. The muddy, wet ground beneath my feet was like a swamp. The shadows of the towering trees made a silhouette that looked like a giant's legs."

We have finished our addition and subtraction unit in Maths. This week we focussed on using inverse operations to check answers.

In Design and Technology, we created a communication device for the Evil Genius and used recycled materials to make them! The designs were innovative and it was so much fun to let imaginations run wild.

Our librarians this week were Darcie and Sebastian. Darcie brought some books from home she really enjoyed and read to the class an extract from both books.

We have also started listening to our Christmas Nativity The Angel Who Nearly Missed It All. Scripts and roles will be sent home after half term.

Our class were instrumental in setting up and leading Zone Rangers each lunchtime this half of term. They have created and managed different zones on the playgrounds to allow for a range of accessible activities for all ages. Well done, Aire Class, you've been a role model to all pupils as you've demonstrated responsibility, leadership and organisational skills!

Have a lovely half term!
