Aire news
This week in Aire Class we have enjoyed lots of exciting learning across different subjects.
In Maths, we have been focusing on dividing by 10 and 100. We used our understanding of place value to see how numbers change and used base ten equipment to help us visualise our calculations and deepen our understanding.
In English, we have been learning about personification and persuasive writing. We have been role-playing reading letters of complaint. As part of this, we wrote persuasive letters to Mrs Sanderson asking for an extra break, making sure to include reasons and rhetorical questions to strengthen our arguments.
In PE, we have been developing our gymnastics skills by creating sequences. We practised travelling, balancing and successfully adding a bunny hop into our sequence.
In RE, we have been learning about the 10 Gurus of Sikhism. We explored how each Guru contributed to the development of the Sikh faith and how this helps us to better understand Sikh beliefs and values.
In Guided Reading, we have been using our prediction skills to think about what might happen next in our new class book, The Hodgeheg. We used clues from the text and illustrations to support our ideas.
We have also been working hard on our spelling rules, revising adding -ing and learning how to spell words ending in -ture.
