Aire Class Blog

In English, we have concluded our explanatory text topic, Marvin and Milo with some fantastic versions of our own! We created our own characters, like 'Gerald the Science Snake'  and we all loved having to practice experiments before writing about them.

Jasper P said 'I really liked doing the experiments and creating our own characters to write about them'. Jasper M said that he 'really liked drawing the characters and doing English writing in a different way.'

In Maths, we are starting our new topic on Fractions! We have been looking at finding a whole and the parts and reminding ourselves of what a numerator and denominator is.

In Learning Means the World, we are completing our topic on Slavery. We looked at real-life scenarios of modern-day slavery and discussed the impact that it has and how it is still something that happens today. We learnt about William Wilberforce and how he helped to end the slave trade.

In RE, we examined what Sikh values we would like to live by and actions we could take to bring more equality to the world. There were some lovely ideas, including donating to food banks, raising money for charity and making posters to raise awareness.

This half of the term we have had Harrogate Football Club be involved in our PE lessons. We have really enjoyed learning new skills and drills and the mini tournaments.

I hope everyone has a lovely half-term and see you soon!
