Aire Blog

These weeks are flying by, and we have been busy with our assessment week too.

In English, we are continuing on with our book based on A River by Marc Martin. We are starting to plan our writing sequence about going on a journey and using the opportunity to enjoy the woodlands we have at school. We created our own journey through the woods and used our senses to describe what we could see, hear and feel.

In Maths, we have worked on converting mixed numbers to improper fractions. It's been a tricky few lessons, but we have shown resilience in how hard we have worked on understanding the relationship between improper fractions and mixed numbers.

In RE, we have been looking at the symbolism behind images linked to the Last Supper and Passover and how these symbols will help Christians remember events of Easter.

We have started our cricket season in our PE lessons as well as our Outdoor Adventurous Activity. We worked on some of our batting and catching skills and enjoyed playing mini-games.

Scarlett, Teddy, Sebastian and Ava represented our class at a cross-country event at Outwood. They were fantastic and gave it 100%.  Ava said, "I really enjoyed it, but it was so tiring! I really enjoyed being part of it."

World Book Day has been a huge success! We have had the most amazing day. We spent the day with Matilda, Alice, Medusa, Mike TV, Mirabelle, Hermione, Harry, Draco, Nikki, Tom Gates, Shadow, Nina, Chicken Little and some crayons!

Scarlett-Anne said "I have enjoyed making bookmarks because we can choose what we want on them and share our ideas."

Savannah said, "I think World Book Day is a creative time."

Sienna said, "I enjoyed dressing up and hearing other stories."
