Swale News

We have had a great week in Swale!
In English, we’ve been diving into The Paperbag Prince. The children have been exploring how adjectives can change the mood of a sentence and affect the way a story feels and how it can change the story direction. It’s been brilliant to see them carefully choosing words to create vivid descriptions and for emotional impact.
In Maths, we’ve moved on to learning about money and decimals. The children have impressed us with how much they remember from Year 3 and have shown great confidence using their knowledge to solve money problems. It’s lovely to see them so engaged in practical maths!
Art has been a real highlight this week as we finished our Romero Britto-inspired bags. The children’s creativity has shone through, and each design reflects their unique personality. We’ve really enjoyed this project, and the final results are something to be proud of!
In Guided Reading, we’ve started our new class book – Charlotte’s Web. The children have been using their prediction skills to think carefully about what the story might involve. We’re already hooked and can’t wait to read more together.
Thank you for your continued support – we look forward to another great week of learning!
