What a fantastically festive week we’ve had in Year 4!

We have loved watching all the hard work from this term come together in our performance of The Angel that Nearly Missed It All. Everyone showed brilliant teamwork, with wonderful singing, fantastic dancing, and amazing acting. You all helped to create a performance that really got us into the festive spirit! We can't wait to send some photos home with the children next week so you can see them.

Maths

In Maths, we revisited place value to really consolidate our understanding. We explored how we can use place value to help us add 1, 10 and 100 more than. We even challenged ourselves with some tricky reasoning problems!

English

In English, we have been researching and writing a biography of Emmeline Pankhurst. We learnt about her incredible work as a leader of the Suffragettes and how she helped women win the right to vote. We also focused on using time conjunctions to make our writing clear and easy to follow. Some of us even tried adding interesting openers and technical vocabulary to make our biographies even more powerful.

RE

In RE, we explored symbols that are important to Sikhs, including the 5 K’s: Kesh, Kara, Kanga, Kachera and Kirpan. We discussed why these items matter to Sikhs and what they represent. We also learned about how these symbols help Sikhs show their faith in everyday life and the importance of belonging to a community.

We are now ready for a very festive last week of term.

Don’t forget! Parents are invited to our Christmas Craft Afternoon tomorrow (Friday 12th December) at 2:30pm. We can’t wait to see you there!
