Ouse Class Blog!

Welcome to our blog!

In English, we read our new book 'Little Red Riding Hood'. We created our own actions to help us retell the story. We have learnt that a verb is a doing word such as walk, standing and eating. There are also irregular past tense verbs such as was, came and told.

In Maths, we have been using base 10 to make a range of 2-digit numbers. We have been looking closely at how many tens and ones make up a number. Did you know that 26 is made up of two tens and 6 ones?

In Learning Means the World we learnt about Alexander Graham Bell who invented the telephone. His wife and mother were deaf, which made Alexander Graham Bell fascinated with sound. He was the first to patent his idea, which meant no-one could copy his idea.

In PE, we had our first gymnastics lesson. We focused on safely carrying the mats and recapped some gymnastic poses that we learnt in Year 1.

The children's favourite part of the week:

Edie "Having our first history lesson!"

Eva "Having lunchtime with our new friends."

Abel "Eating Mrs Fisher's blueberry muffin!"

Musadeq "Using the base 10 to make numbers in Maths."

Vishruth "Our PSHCE lesson with Mrs Trigg."

Logan "Our first art lesson with Mrs Needham."

A reminder that our PE days have changed. PE will now be taught on a Monday and Friday.
