Ouse News!

It has been another action-packed week in Year 2!

Maths

In our Maths lessons we ventured into the world of multiplication and division. We've been using counters and drawings to make equal groups, to visualise how numbers can be shared or grouped together.

Mastering Number

During our Mastering Number sessions we have been deepening our understanding of teen numbers. We have been used <, > and = to complete different number sentences.

English

To make our writing more descriptive and flowing, we have been focusing on conjunctions. Instead of writing short, choppy sentences, the children have been using words like and, but, because and or to join their ideas together.

RE

In RE, we learnt about the Jewish festival of Sukkot. To understand the significance of the temporary shelters (Sukkahs) used during this festival, we got creative! The children built their very own miniature Sukkahs using crackers - it was a sticky and tasty task!

PSHE

In PSHE, we've been looking forward to the future. We discussed our big goals and dreams, and more importantly, the big steps we need to achieve them. We talked about the importance of practice, resilience and learning.

PE

We have been joined by Year 1 to practice our collaborative routine for the KS1 Dance Festival coming up in March. The children are doing a fantastic job of remembering their counts and moving in unison. We can't wait to see them perform!
