Litton Class Takes on East Barnby!

What a fantastic week we had last week on our residential trip to East Barnby! Litton Class had an absolute blast exploring the beautiful North Yorkshire coast, making incredible memories, and trying out some brilliant new adventures. We were so proud of everyone for getting stuck in and showing fantastic teamwork.

Coastal Adventures and Wet Wetsuits!

The beaches were spectacular! We spent time at Sandsend and Runswick Bay, taking in the views and enjoying the fresh sea air. The highlight for many of us was the morning of pure, unadulterated joy spent body boarding. The waves were great and the laughter was even better!

The water activities didn't stop there. We tried our hand at canoeing on the River Esk. It was smooth sailing... mostly! Ask the children about it, and they'll tell you the funniest moment was when Mrs. Gomes and Mrs. Jones took an unexpected dip! They were excellent sports about it, and it gave us all a good giggle.

We also went beck scrambling and every single member of Litton Class was incredible. This activity really pushed us all out of our comfort zones, scrambling up and through the stream and over rocks. Seeing everyone support each other and rise to the challenge was truly inspiring.

Friends, Fun, and Birthdays!

More than the activities, it was the time spent together that made the trip so special. It was a wonderful opportunity to spend time with our friends and let our hair down!

We loved hearing what everyone thought:

  • Dima was so happy he changed his mind from Year 5 and signed up at the last minute. He said he was so pleased he got to join us!

  • Ben clearly enjoyed it, saying he would have liked to have gone for a whole week!

  • And a special shout-out to Lily, who loved celebrating her birthday with a week full of adventure!

What's Next?

We’ve enjoyed this week writing fantastic recounts of all our memories from East Barnby. They're full of detail and emotion, and they really capture the spirit of our trip!

We can't wait to share our work with you:

  • Keep an eye out for these brilliant pieces as part of Parent's Evening.

  • We'll also be celebrating our time away in a special assembly next Friday morning—we'd love for you to join us!

It was a brilliant week for Litton Class. Well done, everyone!
