Litton Class Blog - 24.10.25
What an incredible and busy half-term it's been for Litton Class! We've worked so hard and learned so much over the past few months, and we're ready for a well-deserved break.
English: Cracking Contraptions! โ๏ธ
We finished our final write on our cracking contraptions this week, and the results are fabulous! The children took all of their planning and learning about descriptive writing, technical language, and persuasive argument and produced some truly amazing pieces. They really showcase all the hard work and dedication they've put into their writing this first half-term in Year 6.
Maths: Multiplying Our Way Through!
In Maths, we've been getting to grips with long multiplication. This is a tricky technique, but the children are making excellent progress and showing real persistence. A big takeaway for us is knowing that the faster and more confidently we know our times tables, the quicker and easier long multiplication becomes. Keep practising those tables over the half-term break!
Science: Mechanisms in Action! ๐งช
We've been investigating mechanisms in Science, specifically looking at levers and pulleys. The children absolutely loved the practical science we did as part of this. It was brilliant to see them applying their knowledge to see how these simple machines help us in the real world.
Celebrating Diwali ๐ช
This week, we also celebrated Diwali, the Festival of Lights! We were so incredibly proud of Rohini and Vedant who both performed and spoke in front of the whole school in assembly. They did a wonderful job of giving all the children a flavour of what Diwali is all about. Well done to you both!
Thank You & See You Soon! ๐
It's been lovely to see so many of you this week at the parent consultations and at the residential assembly. Your support means a lot, and it’s wonderful to share all the progress the children are making.
We wish you all a wonderfully restful half term. Enjoy the break, stay safe, and we will see you back in school, refreshed and ready for more Year 6 learning, on Monday, November 3rd!
