✍️ Wharfe Class Weekly News: Magic, Maths, and Messages! 🌟
What a fantastic week it’s been in Wharfe Class! We’ve been using our incredible imagination and focusing hard across all of our subjects.
🧙 Merlin's Magic with Words
This week, our creative writing skills have really soared! We have been deep into writing our very own 'Merlin' inspired stories. We've been working hard to make our writing really come alive for the reader.
We have been focusing on using lots of great descriptive language and, most importantly, tapping into our five senses to create a strong atmosphere. We want you to smell the damp stone of the castle, hear the clang of the sword, and feel the mystery in our tales!
➕ The Order of Operations Power!
In Maths, we have truly been brilliant! We’ve tackled a topic that can be tricky, but we rose to the challenge and aced it: the Order of Operations!
We now know exactly which calculations need to be done first, which is essential for getting the right answer every time. Whether it’s brackets, indices, multiplication, division, addition, or subtraction, we know the correct sequence. Understanding this order helps us solve complex problems, and we feel much more confident in our mathematical abilities!
🙏 Modern Messengers
In our RE lessons, we've had some really thought-provoking discussions. We've been thinking about the idea of a new messenger coming to us today.
What essential messages would they bring to the people of the modern world? We’ve discussed messages about kindness, caring for the planet, peace, and how important it is to be accepting of everyone. It was a fascinating way to connect ancient teachings with the challenges of today.
🤝 Teamwork in PE
Mr. Banks has been helping us refine our skills in PE, and the focus has been on improving our teamwork. We've been practising how to communicate effectively, support each other, and work together to achieve a common goal. It’s not just about winning the game; it's about being the best team we can be! Well done Leo for showing excellent teamwork and for being awarded one of Mrs Bank’s sought after wristbands!
🎄 Elf Day Excitement!
Finally, the festive spirit has arrived! We are so excited to be officially in the season of Advent and are especially looking forward to Elf Day!
Wharfe Class will be enjoying helping all the other children have lots of fun doing all things 'Elf'. Get ready for some silly antics and a day of festive joy! We can’t wait to spread the Christmas cheer!
