Ribble's Class Blog

Yet another fun filled week in Ribble!

This week we have continued to read more about the exciting adventures of Shakleton. We had a debate about Shakleton’s plans and came up with reasons for and against moving on from ‘Patience Camp’. The conversations were great because we had to try and see different people's perspectives on the situation. Ribble also came up with some wonderful, unique ways that they think would save the day despite the terrible conditions that the crew were in.

Maths has seen us conquering decimals! At the start, some people predicted that this would be tricky to get our head around. However, after a lot of perseverance and determination, we have all managed to show great progress. I am looking forward to seeing this continue even more.

In Learning Means the World, as ever, we have been exploring lots of interesting concepts about our body. We have broken down how the heart pumps blood around the body and created some AMAZING cartoon strips to show this process. The scientific vocabulary that has been used is very impressive.

We have also been having very important conversations in RE discussing different perspectives of Christians. The children are looking forward to continuing this next week. I was very impressed with everyone's understanding of different views.

At the end of every day this week, we have been making a concerted effort to read our class novel (Wonder by R.J. Palacio). We are finding that the author's themes are deeply impactful and reflective.
