Ribble's Class Blog

This week has been wonderful with another great set of new opportunities.

This week has been another filled with lots of exciting learning.

In Maths, a lot of children have been very pleased to begin a topic on decimals, which we are looking at in more detail than we have previously. We started by adding tenths and hundredths and then also practised creating complements to 1.

In English this week, we have been writing our fantastic chapters for Varjak Paw's next adventure. We have been using noun phrases, prepositions, exciting verbs and creating contrasting atmospheres with our vocabulary. Miss Grayson has been delighted with the writing that she has seen so far. Alex loved some of his sentences and shared them with the class.

In Learning Means the World we have continued our topic about conservation called 'Global Warning'. This week we have been looking into recycling and the properties of materials. The children have shown a great interest in this subject and the enthusiasm for learning has been great to see.

On Wednesday, we all enjoyed celebrating National Numeracy Day by joining an interactive live stream in class that focused on saving and spending money and having a go at some money-themed extension activities in class. Some of our children were lucky enough to visit the infant site and support some children from reception to log into Numbots! A huge thank you to those children - you did amazingly and were such a credit to Ribble.
