Ribble's Class Blog

Welcome to another wonderful week!

It's been a busy and exciting week in Year 5, and we wanted to share some of the fun things we've been doing.

In Maths, we've been learning all about converting units. That means we've been turning things like metres into centimetres, or kilograms into grams. Everyone worked really hard!

Our English lessons were all about poems this week from a book called 'Cloud Busting'. We read lots of different kinds of poems and looked at the different features that have been used. Skye was especially happy about this because she loves poetry a lot! We are all loving it so far! There was a really unexpected surprise in Chapter 8 that made Dima very, very shocked.

We also had a great visor on Zoom! A lovely America lady talks to us and we got to ask her lots of questions about America. This tied in perfectly with our 'Learning Means the World' topic and it was very interesting to learn about life in a different country from someone who lives there.

What a great week of learning! We can't wait to see what next week brings.
