The Ribble Report

Another hard working week!
In Maths, we have been developing our subtraction skills with 5 to 6 digit numbers, including lots of exchanges. We also practised rounding to check if our answers were correct, which is a very handy skill. It was very tricky to work out the most appropriate number to round to, but we persevered.
For English, we use lots of fairytales that the children are familiar with to learn about the key features that are always included. On Monday, we learnt some new vocabulary and used contrasting adjectives to make our writing more engaging for the reader.
In Science, we finished our work on the Moon. We revised how it moves around the Earth, how long it takes, and why it has different phases (waxing and waning). We are now real experts on the Moon!
Finally, for the rest of the week, I'll be off on the Year 6 residential trip. I will certainly miss seeing all of your brilliant work while I'm away, but I’m excited to come back with lots of thrilling stories to share with you all! Keep up the fantastic learning.
