The Ribble Report

What a fun and festive time we have had this week.

In English, we completed our Christmas poems. We have worked hard to learn about the different poetic devices, prepositional phrases and commas used in lists and for clarity. As a class we have edited these and published them. The progress that we have seen in children's writing is incredible!  Zach was so proud of his work that he went to show Mr Brightwell!

In maths, we have completed our fractions unit. We then worked in pairs going over an end of unit test to support us with the following assessment to test our independent knowledge.

In science, we conducted a class experiment to see which was the best insulator to keep water warm. We wrapped five different cups in various materials to test this. We previously made predictions and compared these to our results. It was an absolute treat to see the hard work that some children put into their line graphs, which we drew to show the fall in temperature of each cup. Everyone should be very proud of themselves because it was very tricky!

On Wednesday we had our Christmas Party. It was a huge success and lots of prizes were won. Liam said that his favourite part was musical statues – everyone really impressed me and Mr Lynn.

Have a wonderful Christmas break!
