Wensley Class Blog

Welcome to a much warmer week in Wensley Class

It has been lovely to enjoy a little more sunshine in Wensley class this week!  We enjoyed our PE sessions learning to play cricket with Mr Vitalli and practising some of our races for Sports Day next Friday.  We have loved learning how to pass the baton in a relay race and the children have displayed some great skill. Next stop - the Olympics!

"I have never used a baton before and I liked how it felt in my hand," said Grace.

Daniel said, "I think it helped me to run faster when we were racing against another team," We had lots of fun while exercising and using our teamwork skills.

We have just started our new Learning Means the World topic all about North America.  We have been looking at all the countries in North America and trying to find them in an Atlas.  We are going to start our topic with a fun Wild West Day on Friday, so you can look forward to some fantastic photographs in our next blog. Yee haw! We were also looking at the American flag and its significance.  We had a go at trying to experience what it would be like to sing the Star Spangled Banner and pledge our allegiance to the flag.

We have been looking closely at number sequences in Maths and trying to spot the patterns.  We have also been multiplying decimals by 10, 100 and 1000.  We have found it a little tricky, but I am very impressed with the way Wensley class use their resilience and never give up!

Here's to a rootin' tootin' Wild West Day!
