Wensley Class Blog

A big Wild West welcome to Wensley this week!
As you can see, Wensley class really rose to the theme of our Wild West Day on Friday. The outfits were amazing and a fantastic time was had by all! We were trying to use our lasso skills to capture a soft toy and we tried our best to knock down all the cans in our tin can alley. The children also really impressed us with their line dancing skills! We all had so much fun! Zebedee said, "My favourite part was trying to knock down the cans. It was quite hard though!"
It has been assessment week this week and I am so proud of how all the children just got on with it despite the rising temperatures. They showed great resilience and really tried their best! Well done everyone!
In English, we have been doing our final piece of writing about our chosen jungle animal. We are designing a double-page spread in our book and trying to include some formal and informal sections to keep our readers engaged. We look forward to showing a few when they are finished.
In Learning Means the World we have been focussing on music and looking carefully at the National Anthems of different countries. We enjoyed learning The Star Spangled Banner and writing our own verse for our own National Anthem - God Save the King. The children were very thoughtful about what they thought should be included. The children chose themes of peace, diversity and kindness, which I thought were wonderful and really reflected the personality of everyone in Wensley.
