Wensley Blog Post

Welcome to Wensley!

We have been busy learning about North America again this week and we were very lucky to be able to set up a Google meeting with a lovely lady from Santa Cruz, California.  She got up extra early to answer lots of fabulous questions from the children, ranging from climate and landmarks to food and earthquakes. The children came up with some fascinating questions and got lots of great information in return.  It was wonderful to get answers and insights from someone who lives in the USA but knows the UK very well and was able to make some helpful comparisons for the children.  This really helped to bring our topic to life. Thank you to Mrs Jones for organising!

In Maths this week we have been looking at measures like mm and ml.  The children have been busy converting between them using their multiplying and dividing skills. It has been quite tricky but we are persevering and more practice will help us next week.

We are loving our new book in English. It is called Cloud Busting by Malorie Blackman and it is a collection of different styles of poem that tell a story.  We have been learning about the main characters and have had a few interesting surprises already.

We are looking forward to sports day today and will no doubt have a wonderful time.  Everyone welcome!
