Wensley's Class Blog

What another busy week!

In English we have been learning about using parenthesis to add additional information to a sentence, either through using brackets, dashes, or commas. We have also been revising using imperative verbs. We are now combining our understanding of these grammatical features with the structure of a set of instructions.

In maths we have continued to explore place value to 1,000,000 through partitioning, using numberlines, comparing and ordering numbers. The class have, once again, been working really hard to grasp some quite challenging concepts. Well done everybody!

In Learning Means The World we've explored how we get day and night, with the help of a globe, a torch and some excellent 'morning, afternoon and evening' acting from Vera! We learned that the Earth rotates anti-clockwise on its axis and why it is nighttime in Australia when it is daytime for us.

The class were delighted to be back working with Mrs Needham and revising primary and secondary colours on Wednesday, as well as playing more tag rugby with Mr Banks. He made a particular effort to share how impressed he was with the class's listening, focus and super use of encouragement with each other.

Have a great weekend!
