Wonderful Wensley Blog!
What a shot!
We have had a great week in Wensley! To the joy of many, we had three PE days in a row at the start of the week. Alongside netball on Monday and orienteering on Wednesday, we also experienced a superb cricket session run by Joe from Yorkshire Cricket Club on Tuesday. We had a brilliant time learning some batting and fielding skills, and the class certainly contains some future cricket stars.
In English, we have been using different forms of adverbials to add detail and interest to our sentences about the escapades of Ernest Shackleton. We have also been expanding our understanding of Antarctic-related vocabulary. Can you remember what a growler is?
In Maths, we have learned about percentages. The class were then fantastic at finding equivalent fractions, decimals, and percentages for different amounts. The progress the class has made in this unit over the last few weeks has been super to see!
In Science on Wednesday, we explored how filtering and sieving can help to separate materials. It was a lot of fun to create some dirty water using sand and pebbles, and then explore how to remove those materials from the water!
