Spa Class Blog

Welcome to our Spa Class blog!

In English we continued reading ‘My World, Your World’. We have particularly thought about different homes this week. We thought carefully about where we live and what our homes look like. We also wrote our own chapter about which fruit we like, discussing who likes the same fruit and who likes different fruit.

In Maths we have looked at positional language - on, under, in, out, in front and behind. We have had lots of practice using this language throughout the provision and have shown a good understanding.

In Phonics we have been singing the nursery rhyme ‘Hickory Dickory Dock.’ We were all able to sing the song fast, slow, loud and quiet. We identified rhyming words and tapped the syllables in words. We listened for the ‘Y’ initial sound in words and could sort picture cards into words that started with the ‘Y’ sound and words that started with a different sound. We have also been practising our oral blending of words.

In RE we have looked at how God’s love of children is shown through infant baptism and dedication. We watched a short film about this and then baptised the dolls in the water area.

In Learning Means the World we have drawn pictures of our homes and talked about where we live. We talked about our gardens too and how some have flowers. We painted some beautiful flower pictures!
We have also been really interested in Reception’s learning this week. They have been learning about dinosaurs, and we decided to learn about them too! We have read LOTS of books about them.
