Welcome to our Spa Class Blog!
In English, we have read a story about the Chinese New Year called ‘How To Catch a Dragon’. Through this, we found out about the traditions and celebrations. It’s a very funny story!
In Maths, we have looked at ‘which number comes after?’ when counting. We have played lots of games and used number tracks to show our understanding.
In Phonics, we have been singing the nursery rhyme ‘Row Your Boat .’ We were all able to sing the song fast, slow, loud and quiet. We identified rhyming words and tapped the syllables in words. We listened for the ‘th’ initial sound in words and could sort picture cards into words that started with, or contained the ‘th’ sound and words that started with a different sound. We have also been practising our oral blending of words and doing really well!
In R.E. we thought about special places. Christians go to a church as their special place to worship God. We also found out that Muslims go to a Mosque to worship their God, Allah. We watched a short video about going to a Mosque. We talked about the similarities and differences between our religions.
In Learning Means the World we have continued our topic of ‘Come Fly With Me’ by visiting China! We learnt about pandas and the Great Wall of China. We used chopsticks to pick up small objects and even real rice noodles! We made a dragon from egg boxes too.
