Spa Class Blog

Welcome to the Spa class blog!

In English we have looked at information about Egypt, particularly the pyramids. We thought about how they were built without any machinery and looked at why they were built. We liked the  Hieroglyphics on the walls inside the pyramids. We also looked at camels and found out lots of facts about them. Did you know that they can close their nostrils to keep the sand out?

In Maths we looked at numbers to 5, counting forwards and backwards. We also used some small camels of  different colour and size to count and order.

In Phonics we have been singing the nursery rhyme ‘Twinkle Twinkle.’ We were all able to sing the song fast, slow, loud and quiet. We identified rhyming words and tapped the syllables in words. We listened for the ‘nk’ ending sound in words and could sort picture cards into words that ended with, or contained the ‘nk’ sound and words that started or ended with a different sound. We have also continued to practise our oral blending of words.

In Learning Means the World we have printed and collaged pyramids and tried to build our own pyramids out of sugar cubes and play dough. It was very tricky!
