Spa Class Blog

Welcome to the Spa Class Blog.
In English we have read the story ‘Eyes, Nose, Fingers and Toes!’. We read the book together and had fun joining in with some of the actions such as ‘arms go up’, wiggling our toes and smiling wide! We looked at the cover of the book, Hayden said it had lots of “boys and girls” on the front, and Rosie said they all looked “happy!”. We sang ‘head, shoulders, knees and toes’ and all joined in with the actions, we even sang it like a unicorn and a dinosaur! This week Sienna, Elijah, Sophie, Theo and Daisy brought books in to share with the class, we had fun learning about Ducklings, Little Miss Giggle and a dancing giraffe!
This week in Phonics we learnt 1,2,3,4,5 Once I Caught a Fish Alive, we all joined in singing loudly, quietly, fast and slow! It was lovely to hear the children singing it in provision, as well as doing all the actions.
For Maths we learnt all about red and blue. We explored how there are lots of shades of red and blue, and yet they are all red and blue colours! For half the week we focused on everything red – including gathering all of our red maths objects onto a red table. For the second half we focused on blue, using blue paper, making blue crafts and using blue water!
In Learning Means the World the children explored making some loose part faces, as well as drawing around our handprints and making art out of our fingerprints! For our Spa Bear circle time this week we used our imagination to work out where some keys would lead to. Zaid said that “a mouse might be behind the door”, Jacob said it could be “the gruffalo’s child” and Marwa said it could be “keys to the park” – Spa Bear was really impressed with everyone’s creativity!
This week the children have also had a lot of fun outside looking at what minibeasts they can find, we have found several worms and the children have enjoyed holding them in their hands before putting them back. We have been working really hard on our good sitting this week, with everyone working together on our recognition board for a class treat!
