Laver Class Blog

What a gorgeous sunny week in Laver Class!

In English, we have been writing letters pleading the businesses in Ripon to make 'fenvironmentallyriendly' choices. We identified problems in Ripon: there is too much rubbish on the streets and too many cars on the roads. As a class we wrote to Morrisons asking them to use less plastic packaging. We also wrote letters to the car companies to ask them to sell more electric cars.

In Maths we have been exploring money. We have learnt to recognise and compare coins and notes. We even had an animal auction where Nancy sold different animals for a pretty fair price. Hollie-May did a great job of spending all her money fast!

In LMTW we have been looking at solar power and why solar panels might be a good addition to our school. We found different things in the classroom that are powered by electricity that would use the solar panels to work. We also had some great questions about the practicality of solar panels. Henry asked 'but will it only work in the summer?' and Edie asked 'What if it is cloudy and rainy?'
