It has been an absolute pleasure to get to know the children more this week. They have worked their socks off. 

The team has made a fabulous start on their phonics, working hard segmenting and blending words, as well as reading our daily sentences fluently! 

In English, we have started the story of The Little Red Hen. We have created story maps to sequence the events of the story, writing short captions to go with this. 

In Maths, we have been working on our sorting and counting of objects. We sorted objects by colour, shape, size and number. We are moving onto counting objects and representing that number on a tens frame. 

We started our new LMTW topic this week of 'Happily Ever After'. We talked about what a 'tale' was, and then made up tales of our own! We are going on to read The Ugly Duckling and thinking about how the duckling will have felt when all of the others were making fun of him.
