Laver Class Blog

We have had another fabulous week in Laver!

In English, we have continued our learning with the help of the Little Red Hen. This week the children have written speech bubbles with what they thought the Little Red Hen would say.

In Maths, we have been counting on a number. We have worked hard on this, not always starting from 0!

We have been working with Yogi in PSHE. We used a tube of toothpaste to symbolise 'name-calling'. We talked about how when you squeeze toothpaste out of the tube you cannot get it back in, just like when you call someone a name. We then discussed how if you do call someone a name, it is really important to say sorry.

In RE we have learnt about parables. We know that a parable is a short story from the bible with a meaning. We then acted out the parable of 'The Lost Son' and talked about how God loves everyone, no matter what their mistakes.

This week, your child will come home with a learning pack. In this pack there will be; reading record, reading book and handwriting sheet that your child has completed this week. These resources are an opportunity to practice what we have been learning in school at home. Please could these learning packs be returned to school on Monday.
