Lovely Laver News!
What another wonderful week in Laver!
We had a lovely end to our week last week by going to the woodland area. We discussed how we know if something is living or non-living. We learnt that a living thing breathes, moves and grows. We then became nature detectives. We explored the woodland for both living and non-living objects.
The children have been working incredibly hard this week!
In Phonics, we have been reading longer words. We have been working on chunking these words up and then putting them back together again.
In Maths, we have been comparing objects and numbers using more, fewer and the same. Some of our teddy bears had a picnic, and we had to compare the numbers in their food.
We have started a new book this week in English called 'How do you feel?'. It has been lovely to hear conversations between the children, using the new vocabulary used in our book.
In RE, the children were thinking about how we should show our belief in God. They came up with some fabulous ideas, like 'singing hymns', 'going to church', 'reading the bible', 'loving and caring for everyone'.
Art has been very creative this week. The children have all made a clay pot! They used their pinching and rolling skills to make sure it was round! The children are looking forward to decorating these pots next week!
