Wakeman Class Blog

We have had a fantastic start to 2025, and have been engaged in some brilliant learning!

In Maths, we have been learning all about money. We have identified coins and their values. We have been adding up these values and finding who has the most amount of money. Aura says 'I can now count the money in my money box, to see if I have enough to buy a toy!'.

In English, we have been using possessive apostrophes. We learnt these come after a noun when something belongs or is connected to something. For example 'Tessa's colourful shoes'.

In LMTW we have been continuing our learning about Josephine Baker. This week we created a timeline of her life, and found out that she got married at the age of 13! Lucas P said 'We put the events in chronological order to see the order of her life'.

As part of our LMTW we have been learning lots of dances that Josephine Baker performed. On Tuesday we took part in an audition (just like Josephine did!) and created our own dances to be on stage!

Just a reminder to please continue using Reading Eggs and Numbots at home to aid the children's learning.
