Wakeman Class Blog
Welcome to our class blog. We have been working really hard this week (as always), showing off all of our talents.
In English, we have been continuing our work on Ellsworth's Extraordinary Electric Ears. We have been learning how to use possessive apostrophes to show something belongs to or is connected to someone. We have been wowing ourselves using these independently in our writing. Anna gave the example 'Lucy's lucky lion loves licking lollipops'. Keaton gave the example 'Kane's cookie was playing croquet in the crowd'.
In Maths, we have been learning to find change. We have been brilliant mathematicians, spotting patterns and using our number bonds when working out how much change is needed. Lucas W added 'We have also be learning how to make a £1. I used 50p and a 50p'. Hamza said 'I used 5 20ps.
We are coming to the end of our LMTW topic of 'Dancing Spy'. This week we learnt about Josephine Baker's rainbow tribe. She adopted twelve children from all different corners of the world! We attempted to make our own rainbow tribe. These skills will be improved upon in Ms Needham's art lesson next week.
In RE, we are looking at our big question 'Why does Easter matter to Christians?'. We started off by learning our key terminology for the unit, which is 'Salvation'. John said 'salvation means that Jesus saves people from their sins'. We worked as a team to learn the Easter story and put it in the right order.
We have been incredibly impressed with all the homework that has come into school, especially all the bird feeders that have been made. We can see your creativity shining through!
On Monday, we are launching our new LMTW topic of 'Paddington's Passport'. Please can all children bring in a small teddy bear of their choice to join us on our teddy bear picnic.
