Wakeman Blog

Welcome to Wakeman's class blog!

What a week we have had!

We had a fantastic World Book Day yesterday. It was lovely to hear who the children came dressed as and why! We had lots of discussions about who inspired us and why. We even managed to get out and have story time in the gorgeous sunshine!

The children have been working hard to prepare for the dance competition next Wednesday. This week we introduced them to their costumes, which brought the dances to life! We definitely have some fierce dragons in our team!

This week we introduced our new LMTW topic of 'Record Breaker'. This tells us about the life of Ranulph Fiennes. We have started to explore the timeline of his life, and cannot wait to find out more!

In RE, we are continuing our learning of the 'creation' story. The children this week have been re-telling the story, and engaging in interesting discussions about how our world was made.

We are coming to the end of our topic of 'Multiplication and Division' in Maths. Children have been showing off their learning in their End of Spring Checks, and have blown us away with their attitude towards their learning, and being able to problem-solve using different approaches.

In English, we have started our new story 'A Dog's Day'. This is a story told from 2 different perspectives. We have drawn both points of view and matched them up to create a story map.
