A week full of challenges!
We started our new English unit this week and we have been watching some Christmas adverts that tell a story. Ava S said that she really enjoyed writing about Edgar the dragon because it was fun watching the advert and she is excited about our new Christmassy unit!
On Wednesday we had a challenge! We had to make a table that was strong enough to support a glue stick but there was a catch...we could only use a sheet of A4 paper, some scissors and glue. We had a lot of collapsing tables before Ava D, Amber, Sienna, Darcie and Archer were finally successful. Even those of us who didn't manage it learnt a lot about teamwork in the process.
We learnt about the ancient Greek city states of Athens and Sparta and how they differed. We then had to choose whether we would rather be an Athenian or a Spartan. Jay said he would rather be an Athenian because he thought the Spartans were troublemakers. Dylan also chose to be an Athenian as "You have a bit more choice of what to do with your life and it's more peaceful because in Sparta they send you to train as a soldier when you are seven." Sophie chose to be a Spartan because Athenian girls weren't allowed to go to school!
