Ribble's Class Blog

Another interesting, busy week in Ribble!

In English, we have begun our story planning for the fairytale that we are writing (inspired by Hansel and Gretel). Davids is loving it and is having a good time progressing with his writing. Ellie has really enjoyed art this week. She said that it has allowed her to be creative and make own designs. The class have been drawing mosaics, colouring them in beautiful designs and patterns. Keira is also very excited about painting her clay next week!

In Learning Means the World we have continued to look at the Roman Empire and we have been focusing on the famous Emperors. Kyra thinks that most of them were brutal, however, sometimes they were also good leaders so it is interesting to research how they ruled. We have been learning a lot of new information about the way that the Romans lived and can not wait to continue.

Fractions have been progressing in maths and it has been tricky, but we are taking time to focus on the skills we need to compare fractions, find equivalent fractions and order fractions, which Oliver said is helping him understand them.

We cannot forget to mention that we won the Times Table Rock Stars challenge in Year 5. Well done Ribble - keep it up!
