We enjoyed celebrating National Numeracy Day!

On National Numeracy Day the children came dressed as a number! Our staff came wearing outfits that reflected what they would spend their time doing if they had lots of money!

In the infants, Mrs Lockwood reported she would be a police officer. Miss Rodgers said she would buy lots of houses and redecorate them! Miss Lee would relax in her pjs all day! Meanwhile in the juniors Mr Brightwell came dressed as the new owner of Leeds United under whose leadership would win the premiership! Mrs Vickers would travel the world paddle boarding! Mrs Calland-Brooke was delighted to share that she would spend her days as a doggy-mummy, she proudly  shared photos of her pets, including her new puppy!

Congratulations to our Easter Tombola Winners!

A parishioner from Holy Trinity shared her experiences about the challenge faced by primary school pupils in South Sudan. It costs families £50 a year to send their child to school. The Worship Warriors decided to sponsor a child each year of their education. Our Worship Warriors are delighted to share that the Easter Tombola raised the £50 needed to sponsor a pupil so they can attend school this academic year.

Thank you to Alannah, one of the staff members who donated four exciting Easter hampers.

  • Y2 Dance!

    Published 21/03/25

Y2's fabulous few weeks of dance culminated in them performing their compositions for their parents and families this morning!

Last week, the children visited Outwood Secondary School to perform, along with several other local schools, in a mass participation dance event. They had practised and perfected their dances, and organised their costumes so they looked just the part!

This morning, the children were slightly nervous to be performing in front of a crowd full of parents, families and friends, but they did amazingly well, and we were so proud of them. The joy was something really quite special!

  • World Book Day 2025

    Published 07/03/25

World Book Day 2025 was, once again, a roaring success. This year, we chose to focus on information or non-fiction books as the inspiration for our dress-up and discussions. We thought about a variety of people, characters and animals who have inspired us to read about them. The range was fabulous - as was the enthusiasm with which the children spoke about who or what they had come dressed as. We had a real focus on developing oracy - the art of speaking - and the children really rose to the occasion! Throughout the day, we saw Queen Elizabeth II, Neil Armstrong, Tim Peake, Amelia Earhart, Bear Grylls, suffragettes, doctors, vets, geologists, adventurers, soldiers - and so many more - the sense of joy in school was palpable!

As always, we were incredibly proud of the way the children engaged in the day; they loved moving to a different part of school to listen to a member of staff read to them, and the staff enjoyed this as much as the children!

Classes are currently finishing off decorating their doors with their chosen book theme - there is stiff competition and much competitive spirit! Watch out for more photos of class doors!

As always, we would like to say a big thank you to parents and carers - events like World Book Day are brought to life by the combined efforts of everyone involved - and the support we receive from parents is fabulous. Thank you!
