Christian Vision

Our mission at Holy Trinity CE Primary School is rooted in a profound legacy: the historic promise of Church of England schools to stand with the disadvantaged and champion the community. We honour that legacy every day by cultivating an inclusive, vibrant learning environment where everyone belongs, everyone matters, and everyone is celebrated.

Bonded deeply with our neighbouring church and the Diocese of Leeds, we thrive within the Leeds Diocesan Learning Trust. Guided by the transformative values taught by Jesus, we intentionally weave His message of hope, compassion, and community throughout every corner of school life. Our School Vision

'Loved by God and one another, Holy Trinity is a welcoming community of faith, where we learn and flourish together. Each day opens up horizons of hope, aspiration and joy!

Our school’s vision and core values are firmly grounded in Christian theology and rooted in scripture. Specifically, our vision stems from 1 John 4:11–12 and our deeply held belief that we are "Loved by God and one another." These biblical roots are intentionally woven throughout our curriculum and collective worship.

In his letters, the Apostle John shares his wisdom on how we are called to live as Christians. He teaches us that while we cannot physically see God, He already lives within us. When we love one another, God’s love is made perfect and complete in our community. Ultimately, this dual command—to love God and to love one another—forms the very foundation of our school's life and identity.

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No-one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. 1 John 4:11-12.

Inspired by the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25–37), our vision at Holy Trinity centres on love in action, teaching us to love God, our neighbours, and ourselves regardless of background, ethnicity, religion, or ability. Just as the Samaritan demonstrated courage, compassion, and responsibility by breaking societal expectations to help a stranger, we strive to model this behaviour in our daily lives by welcoming every child and family into our school community. This narrative of hope and inclusion is particularly vital for our transient population in Ripon, reinforcing that every individual is uniquely valued and made in the image of God. Guided by Jesus’s command to "go and do likewise," we celebrate our differences, make ethical choices, and look to positive role models across our curriculum to foster a deeply empathetic, respectful, and caring environment where everyone can flourish.

Our Trust Vision

Loving, Living and Learning Together

Serving and celebrating our unique schools and communities, we will love, live and learn together.  Valuing our pupils, staff, governors and team as people of God, we will deliver transformational learning and the flourishing of all.

Our Vision is rooted in the example of the life of Jesus.  In each Gospel and story, we are challenged to love one another and ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39)
and reminded that all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Leeds Diocesan Learning Trust Vision

It draws on the language of the Diocese of Leeds through its core values of Loving, Living and Learning. These words can easily be read through the lens of education, of learning and of what we strive to do every day in our schools. They are inclusive words that point to the diverse nature of experience lived across the diocese and in particular in our schools.

Our vision also references and is coloured by the Church of England’s vision for education, published in 2016, which speaks of the practice of education being Deeply Christian, Serving the Common Good. This articulation of vision is one that is ‘generous and seeks to allow the riches of Christian life to overflow to those of other faiths or of no faith, sharing the bigger vision of what we think education is for’. It is also a vision that speaks of securing transformational outcomes for children and young people by combining academic rigour with a rounded approach to personal development.

As a Church Trust our starting point is, inevitably, that God might exist, might be interested in us as human beings and might be active in our world. Because of that we believe God is inherently interested in each of us and desires to see everyone reach their full potential and experience life in all its fullness. This is our worldview and provokes and underpins the work of the Trust. We also think it is important that all those who work with us understands our starting point. However, the Trust knows not everyone will have this worldview and we actively embrace that diversity of viewpoint and seek collectively to build an inclusive culture where everyone will be safe and find a home that will allow them to flourish. In this regard each of our schools will also have their own vision, serving their unique communities and that is something to be celebrated.
