With over 24 years of experience in primary education, I bring a deep-rooted commitment to fostering a nurturing and ambitious learning environment. Since September 2021, I have had the privilege of leading a Church of England school, a role that deepened my passion for the unique values and spiritual growth that a C of E education provides. Most recently, I successfully navigated my previous school through a SIAMS inspection, ensuring our Christian vision was at the heart of everything we achieved.

When I am not at school, I value quality time with my family. I am a keen musician and enjoy the tranquillity of fishing and walking – activities that keep me energised and ready for the busy school week.

I am incredibly excited to lead this wonderful school through its next chapter. My goal is to build upon the fantastic education our children already receive, ensuring every pupil at Holy Trinity feels supported, inspired, and empowered to reach their full potential.

I decided to become a Governor as I want my children and their friends and peers to have the best chance in life. I've got a lot of experience of leadership I know I can bring to the school, from outside of education. This was the best way I can contribute to their education and having a thriving, successful school means we have a thriving successful community. I also have two children at school, in year 5 and year 2.

I am a lifelong musician and am passionate about every child having an opportunity to do something outside of their normal school day. I also have 22 years of experience working in Banking and Finance, covering all areas of compliance.

My hobbies are varied from playing in a brass band, reading and gaming to some very leisurely bike riding and of course supporting the mighty Harrogate Town, all of which are things I am getting to enjoy with the family as they grow up.

My 22 years as a leader and senior leader in Banking and Finance have set me up to understand many parts of the law, of the way our legislation works across multiple settings and also how keenly we have to keep an eye on spending if we are to be successful. Scrutinising what is good value and how we best use every penny for our children is a key element of our governance.

I am an active member of Holy Trinity Church, where I am responsible for most of the tech in the church. I have enjoyed working with the school on their visits over the years, on their services, nativity productions and assemblies. Retirement a few years ago gave me the opportunity to become more involved. Now, my favourite activity each week is going into school to listen to children read!

Both my daughters attended the school; one is now a primary school teacher in her own right. I have always been involved in other forms of learning, initially in outdoor education, and, before I retired, in management development. I am passionate about the development of young people, in its broadest sense, in particular the importance of adventure in young people’s lives.

Whilst I have no specific experience in the formal education of young people, my career has always been focused on learning. In particular I have experience in training delivery, coaching, communication skills and the use of IT within training.

As a long term member of the congregation of Holy Trinity Church i have long valued the close relationship between school and church. My daughters, and many of their friends, attended the school, and it has been part of our lives, through both good and challenging times. It has been a pleasure to see the school develop over the years; maintaining its close relationship with the church. Being fairly recently retired, I see being a member of the LAC as an opportunity to be more closely involved in the school’s further development.

I am in my Eighties but still passionate about children’s education. I am a mother of 7 children and a grandma of 12! My other passions include French as I lived in France for some time. I also enjoy sports which include the Rugby Union, specifically France and the 6 nations. Malawi is where I spent many months with my family, and this holds a lot of special memories for me. I am involved with Holy Trinity Church and being a Foundation Governor means I take my responsibilities of ensuing school is distinctive in its Christian values very seriously.

I am one of the Year 6 teaching team joining Holy Trinity in 2023. Prior to that, I have held Leadership responsibilities as a SENDCo and Deputy Headteacher. I live locally with my husband and 2 children. I am passionate about providing exciting experiences alongside an outstanding education. As a Year 6 teacher the highlights of my year are the residential, end of year production and watching our pupils make a successful transition to their high school.

As a local dentist and owner of a practice here in Ripon, I am deeply invested in our local community where my family and I have happily lived for over a decade. With three children currently attending Holy Trinity, my connection to the school is both personal and passionate. When I’m not in the clinic, you will usually find me staying active, running with my dog or diving into creative Lego builds with my children.

Part of my role as Vicar of Holy Trinity Church, Ripon, is the opportunity to serve as a school governor. I value this greatly, as it allows me to maintain a strong and meaningful connection with the school and to help nurture the positive and mutual relationship between church and school. I have three children and my youngest is in Year 6 at Holy Trinity. I have been a school governor in my previous parish in York, but this is my first experience of being a governor in a Church of England school.

I hope that my experience and role as a vicar enables me to contribute to the spiritual life of the school. I love exploring faith, hope, leadership, the bible and prayer with people of all ages and I find children often have amazing insights and perspectives.

Both as a parent and as the local vicar I am passionate about seeing Holy Trinity primary school being the best it can be. A welcoming school community that knows and shares Gods love.
