Supporting Emotional wellbeing at Trinity: The Thrive Approach

At our school, we believe that happy, emotionally secure children are the most successful learners. To help us achieve this, we are proud to use the Thrive Approach—a leading framework that helps us understand and support the social and emotional development of every child.

Why we use Thrive at Trinity?

Just like academic learning, emotional development happens in stages. Sometimes, life events or simple "bumps in the road" can cause interruptions in this growth.

When a child’s emotional foundation has a few "missing pieces," it can affect their confidence, behaviour, and ability to learn. Thrive helps us identify these gaps so we can provide the right support at the right time.

How it works

We use Thrive as a specialised assessment tool to look at the needs of both whole classes and individual pupils. This provides our staff with:

  • Targeted Action Plans: Bespoke strategies to support emotional growth.

  • Reparative Activities: Fun, age-appropriate, and respectful ways to "repair" gaps in earlier development.

  • Creative Support: Using play, art, and movement to help children feel safe, settled, and ready to learn.

Our Goal

By integrating Thrive into our daily school life, we ensure that our pupils don't just grow academically, but also develop the resilience and emotional intelligence they need to flourish throughout their lives.
