Please see below for what we will be learning during Autumn 2:

English: Spa Class will be reading the stories ‘Colour Monster’ by Anna Llenas, ‘Owl Babie’s by Martin Waddell, ‘Where’s My Teddy?’  by Jez Alborough and ‘We’re Going on an Elf Hunt’ by Martha Mumford. We will be encouraging children to make their own marks and give some meaning to their marks, create story maps and draw characters from stories.

 Maths: We will be looking at the numbers 1 and 2 and subitising, which means knowing how many objects there are without counting. Additionally, Spa Class will be looking for patterns in the environment.

Understanding the World: The children will be focussing on ‘Night and Day.’  We will be finding out about nocturnal animals, the sun, moon, stars and shadows. We will also be exploring simple changes, such as melting and freezing.

Outdoor Adventures: Spa Class will look at the environment and focus on exploring the season of autumn and the transition to winter.

RE: We will be exploring why Christian’s perform Nativity play's at Christmas.

Music:  Our focus will be on ‘Celebrations.’ We will be learning about music from different cultures and religious celebrations such as Diwali and Hanukkah.

PSHE: Being Me in My World - We are looking at celebrating differences. We will be thinking about what makes us special, our homes, how to be a kind friend, and how to stand up for ourselves when someone says or does something unkind.
